I have just purchased a Sharp Aquos LC32GD8EA 32" LCD TV to allow me to play my Xbox 360 in HD. However, having also purchased the HD VGA cable, I am getting no sound out of the TV despite havng pictures. The TV itself is fine, my DVD player and the built in Freeview are great. I am just getting no sound out from the TV via the Xbox.
If there is anyone out there who has the same TV, your assistance in resolving this problem I have would be more than appreciated.

Hello,
Do you have the plugs connected directly into the TV? Or into something else (the red and white audio cords).
Also, the VGA HD cable was made for a monitor (it has a VGA end). I'm surprised if it plugs into the TV. or are you using the 360 standard HD component cable?
Thanks

I have tried to connect my Xbox to the TV via both the HD VGA cable and the HD Component cable and neither give me sound but both give a great picture. Is it possible that because the TV is Digital I need feed an optical output from the connection on the Xbox to the 3.5mm Input on the TV which can be found directly under the connection ??

Paul,
that is exactly what you need to do. An optical sonud cable connection will plug into the HD AV cable on the left
