These routers mentioned have some major problems with not only Xbox live but in general are not very good machines.
Here is a good review of the product (most definetely biased as I find it to be too positive) http://www.pcmag.com/ article2/ 0,1759,1579154,00.asp
But sure enough a google search on "dlink di524 problems" or "dlink di614+ problems" and you encounter a review like this one
http://reviews.digitaltrends.com/ review1449.html
The di 524, 624 and 624 + models are all described in this forum post because of their problems. They are all completely similar - they look alike and the firmware, along with the options you can setup in the router software, are all similar.
Thus, whether you've got a 524, 624, or 614 +, you're probably going to experience some issues. I myself owned the 614+ at one point. Every night when I would get home from work my network would be down. I'd need to hardware power cycle the router and modem multiple times before it worked again.
The features on the router all work great, the major problems with the router is the inconsistent performance. Perhaps one of the more troubling problems is users report once upgrading the firmware the device becomes less compatible with live.
The routers mentioned are compatible with the service and the compatibility page on xbox.com tells which firmware versions are most compatible - http://www.xbox.com/ en-US/ support/ connecttolive/ xbox360/ homenetworking/ equipment.htm
