The HDMI cable for the 360 console was needed. Thus, the 360 elite featuring HDMI was released.
When Msft first released the xbox 360 premium system, they did not state customers would have to purchase a brand new console to utilize HDMI. However, this has become the case. HDMI is required for some TVs because they do not support the newest 1080p resoloution over component. Sony TVs, for example, lack the sync-on-green command when using 1080p over component cable. Many TVs that support HDMI will not do the 1080p over component, thus if your TV is an HDMI TV you need a 360 with HDMI to do the newest 1080p resoloution. |
