Xbox elite console \ Elite troubleshooting and technical issues \ Elite won't do 1080p over HDMI
Author Messages Date Posted
Frank Edward Sparhawk asks,

I have the Elite, and the option for 1080p is grayed out. The highest resolution I am allowed to select is 1080i. How can I change this? My TV, Sony 70" XBR2, accepts a 1080p signal through HDMI. I only have the HDMI cable attached. Thanks.

OK, it will accept a 1080p connecting HDMI directly to the TV. BUT I want to go through my receiver, which will accept a 1080p signal and pass it on, but it is not being recognized that way.

Frank Edward A: The 360 elite won't do 1080p if there is a device inbetween. You need to run it directly to your TV. 5/12/2007
